Which torrents are forbidden to upload?

Have a look at this Forum thread

How to upload a torrent?

Upload that torrent as described in our upload guide

This is a general description, which is valid for all BitTorrent client programs and our upload page.
For some frequently used client programs you can find seperate guides in our Forum too:

Please remember to re-download your torrent from our tracker again, before you open it with your BitTorent client!
If you leave out this step, your torrent will never get to the state of seeding!

Currently only for Windows user we have a small program QTM (Quick Torrent Maker) which does all of the above tasks itself and works best in combination with uTorrent:

Read the PM you get after successful upload of your torrent carefully and wait until a mod comes to approving your torrent. All requests for approval of your torrent are gracefully ignored on our help desk, in the forum, or in the chat, nor will a PM to any moderator with an approval request be answered.

How many torrents may I upload?

Upload ONE torrent at a time, except you have an expressive moderator's permission to upload more than one new torrent. You will only get permission, if you ask a moderator and have a sufficient upload speed (> 64KB/s = > 512 KBit/s at least). Don't bother asking if your average/current upload speed is below that value.

Watch your inbox while waiting for approval

Please don't watch your upload alone, but log in to our site regularly and have a look at your inbox.

While the torrent waits for moderator approval, any messages why a torrent is not yet approved will come to your inbox. If you leave after you uploaded a torrent and don't correct any mistakes you might have done and which are described in those moderator messages, your torrent will never be approved.

What do I do with PMs about my uploaded torrent?

READ THEM! And read them to the end.

Those are moderator messages which deal with the approval of your uploaded torrent.
Usually they notify you of errors you made when you uploaded your torrent and contain helpful hints how to repair those errors. The hints usually are noted at the end of the message - so please read them completely.

Don't forget to correct your errors! This way you ensure that your torrent can get approved.

How can I correct any errors I might have done? Do I have to upload the torrent again?

No! As long as you did not get a message that your torrent was disapproved, the torrent is still waiting in our approval queue. You can edit your uploaded torrent even before it's approved (and we expect you to do so!).

Since your torrent is not yet visible on our search page, you have to use a different way to find and edit your uploaded torrent, just do it this way:
Select your statistic page (Click on your user name beside "Welcome back" on top of every page). At the bottom of that (statistics) page you find a list of your uploaded torrents, including not yet approved uploads. Click on the torrent you'd like to edit and you'll get the torrents detail page. There you find a row "Upped by (your user name) and the option [Edit this torrent]. That brings you to the edit page for that torrent where you can edit all of your detail information for your uploaded torrent, add or delete pictures and more. You even can delete your upload (Bottom of the edit page) - you have to enter a reason why you delete that torrent though.

What do I do when my upload is disapproved?

You made a fatal error, read the disapproval message thoroughly. Read also the thread about forbidden uploads, the rules about file sizes and all other hints in the disapproval message. Another reason for disapproving a torrent can be: You did not correct your mistake(s) after you've got a moderator's PM to correct an error. If you don't correct an error you made, your torrent will be disapproved after some days too. That is why we ask to watch your PM inbox after uploading a new torrent.

What do I do after my torrent is approved?

SEED IT UNTIL COMPLETION!

Again, seed your uploaded torrent until at least 3 or 4 other members got your upload completely and continue seeding for you.
Only after that time you may make a new upload!

Remember the rule: Do not upload several new torrents at a time!
